Day Long Excursions on the Big Island

There are a number of great day trips to be made from Kealakekua Hale, by sea, by bicycle or by car. Some of our guests’ favorites include a trip over to the town of Hilo, a visit to Rainbow Falls, a day in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and viewing recent eruptions of Kilauea, a four-wheel drive trek down into Waipio Valley or a visit to orchid and anthirium nurseries.
